Did you know that many of the fruits, vegetables and nuts we enjoy as part of a diverse, daily diet need bees and other pollinators?
These agricultural crops rely, to varying extents, on insects to pollinate them and enable seed and fruit production. Managed pollinators, such as honey bees, can be seen as ‘farm workers’ – actively participating in agricultural production activities.
As our planet’s human population continues to grow, farmers need to produce more high-quality, safe food every year – helped by innovative crop protection technologies – while preserving the environment.
Addressing this challenge is the key to agricultural sustainability – and protecting bees and other pollinators is a part of it.
